Old School.

Dear Fashion Diary,

The majority of this ensemble is from high school or older.
My mother bought the short sleeve top and the skirt
years and years ago thinking I'd like them.
I thought they were too 'boring' when I was in high school so they sat sadly in my closet!
Thus the beauty of holding on to your clothes.
Usually I give away my old stuff to stay organized and un-cluttered.
But I had a feeling about these guys. And now I'm happier than I ever I kept them!!

Isn't it funny how our tastes can drastically change over time??
How have your tastes changed as you get older?

{I wish I would've known my necklace's ribbon was hangin out in the front...}

  • tan top: Gap (old)
  • lace top: Charlotte Russe
  • skirt/pearl ring: Forever 21 (old)
  • bow belt: thrifted!
  • heels: Charlotte Russe.com
  • necklace: an Arizona boutique

My taste has definitely changed over the years although I'm not sure exactly how. I just remember I used to follow so many other people when I was younger rather than really figuring out what I liked myself. And I love this outfit! Especially the bows on the belt and the shoes. So cute!!

once again a very cool outfit from you! I like that Burberry'ish print and your heels look very chic.
when it comes to my taste then I'm sure it has developed in time and became better and bolder ;) I'm glad I wear more than just jeans and some t-shirt, hehe :D

Now see, this is just proof of what you said and what I try to explain to my husband- you never know when something old from your closet will come in handy! I need that skirt!

How about we just swap closets? Sound good? Ha ha. Once again, I LOVE this outfit. That skirt is so perfect for fall. Or for anything.

I love this, Sara Jane! I have a A line skirt that's too long which I usually fold over at the waist band

, now I know I can always belt over it like you did here. THanks for the inspiration!
